The LSU Tigers will end the 2022 season in the same stadium where it will kick off the 2023 season.

LSU (9-4) will play in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl in Orlando on Monday, January 2nd against Purdue (8-5) out of the Big Ten Conference. The game will be played in Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. LSU is slated to kick off the 2023 season in the same spot for a neutral-site opener against Florida State.

Kickoff for the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl is set for noon and can be heard live on THE GAME 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles — Southwest Louisiana’s Sports Station.

The Tigers have played in the Citrus Bowl twice before in 2016 and 2017. LSU defeated Louisville 29-9 in the 2016 game and lost 21-17 to Notre Dame in the 2017 game.

LSU also played in the bowl game under a former name — the Tangerine Bowl. LSU defeated Wake Forest 34-10 in the 1979 bowl game.

Purdue meanwhile has previously played in the Citrus Bowl once before. That was back in 2004 when Purdue lost 34-27 in overtime to Georgia when the game was known as the Capital One Bowl.

The Boilermakers are looking to win nine games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1997 and 1998.

This will serve as the first on-field contest between LSU and Purdue.
