LSU is working on a new contract for Passing Game Coordinator / Wide Receivers Coach Joe Brady. According to a report by Yahoo Sports, LSU officials approached Brady during last week during the bye and are working to have a new deal by the end of the season.
Brady is in the first year of a three-year contract that pays him $410,000 a year this year. $435,000 the in his second year and $460,000 in the third year. LSU is expected to bump that up to the level of an NFL Coordinator, which would put his new salary in the neighborhood of $1.5 million per season.
Brady spent the past two seasons as an assistant with the New Orleans Saints, learning under coach Sean Payton. He also worked as an assistant at Penn State.
Since his arrival in February, Brady has worked with offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger to modernize the LSU offense. The Tigers have the #4 ranked scoring offense with 46.8 points per game and the second rated passing offense with an average of 377.6 yards per game.
They also have a legitimate Heisman trophy candidate in Joe Burrow, who has thrown 33 touchdowns and rushed for 3 more this season.
