The LSU Tiger football team has moved up two spots in the AP Poll Top 25 rankings for week three of college football.

LSU was ranked 18th in the country heading into last Saturday’s matchup versus the Nicholls Colonels. The Tigers had issues in the first half but pulled away in the third quarter to win comfortably 44-21.

With that first win in 2024, LSU climbed to 16th in the latest Top 25 rankings. The latest list was announced on Sunday.

The Tigers are just one of eight SEC teams in this week’s AP Poll and six of those teams are ranked in the top seven.

The Georgia Bulldogs occupy the top slot while Texas was propelled to number two after their big road win over Michigan who dropped from 10th to 17th. The lone non-SEC school in the top seven is the Ohio State Buckeyes. After that, Alabama is ranked fourth, Ole Miss is fifth, Mizzou is sixth, and Tennessee is ranked seventh.
