BATON ROUGE – The Tiger trio of Cameron Thomas, Javonte Smart and Trendon Watford have earned conference honors.
The Southeastern Conference released its All-SEC teams this week and the LSU trio were placed on the teams — which are voted on by the league’s coaches.
Thomas earned first-team recogination and was also selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team. The LSU freshman star is averaging 23 points per game, leads the SEC in scoring and field goals made and leads the coutnry in made free throws with 163.
Smart and Watford meanwhile earned second-team honors.
Smart is averaging 15.8 points a game and leads the SEC in three-point percentage (43.4 pct.) Watford is second on the team in scoring averaging 16.1 points and 7.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.
Thomas and Watford were also named to the All-SEC team by The Associated Press. Those teams are selected by the 14 media members that cover the league.
LSU (16-8, 11-6 SEC) will play the winner of Thursday’s Ole Miss-South Carolina game Friday night at 8:15 p.m. at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
