LSU sophomore Tari Eason has been named the Southeastern Conference’s Sixth Man of the Year.
In addition to the award, Eason was also earned All-SEC first team honors, while senior Darius Days received All-SEC second team honors. Eason’s teammate Brandon Murray earned a spot on the All-Freshman team.
The Cincinnati transfer started four games during the regular season (filling in for the injured Xavier Pinson) but he was at his best coming off the bench for LSU.
Eason scored 20 points or more in 12 games, with eight of those in conference play, including six-of-the-last-eight-games. He also posted seven double doubles this year, including four 20 point-10 rebound games.
Eason averaged 16.9 points and 6.9 rebounds with 2.0 steals per game.
Days meanwhile averaged 13.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1.5 steals per game. Days ranks 12th in career rebounds at LSU with 801 and 31st in scoring with 1,261 points.
Murray averaged 10.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.7 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. He also averaged 11.0 points in league play.
