Day two of the 2021 MLB Draft is officially underway and the LSU Tigers finally had players and verbal commits taken in the draft.
Here are the Tigers (and commits) selected on the second day of the MLB Draft. This will be updated frequently so make sure to refresh for the latest.
LSU commit RHP Ben Kudrna, 2nd round (43 pick) to the Kansas City Royals.
Kudrna was a consensus Top 50 product with Perfect Game ranking him as the No. 27 overall prospect and No. 7 right-handed pitcher in the 2021 class. He was the top-ranked prospect in Kansas.
RHP Jaden Hill, 2nd round (44th pick) to the Colorado Rockies.
In 2021, Hill went 2-3 and recorded a 6.67 ERA in 29.2 innings pitched with 25 strikeouts while allowing 29 hits. Hill was an All-American in 2020 and started only nine games in his LSU career.
LSU commit C Carter Jensen, 3rd round (78th pick) to the Kansas City Royals.
Carter Jensen has said he will not go to LSU and instead sign a professional contract with the Royals. Jensen is a left-handed hitter who is 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds. He was named to the World Showcase Top Prospect List this season.
RHP Landon Marceaux, 3rd round, (80th pick) to the Los Angeles Angels.
In 2021, Marceaux went 7-7 with a 2.54 ERA while striking out 116 batters over 102.2 innings on the season. Marceaux had a 14-9 record, with a 3.23 ERA, allowing 179 hits, over 184 innings pitched, and 181 strikeouts in his LSU career.
LSU commit LHP Brock Selvidge, 3rd round (92nd pick) to the New York Yankees.
At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Brock Selvidge was able to throw a fastball at 96 miles per hour. MLB had him at 131st ranked prospect on the board.
LSU commit C Ian Moller, 4th round (103rd pick) to the Texas Rangers.
Tough break for LSU as Ian Moller has announced he will sign professionally with the Rangers. Moller, from Dubuque, Iowa, is a 6-foot-1 and 207 catcher who ran a 7.07 time in the 60-yard dash.
