The LSUE Bengals’ baseball and softball teams both secured preseason top 12 rankings in the NJCAA Polls. The baseball team is ranked 9th, while the softball team is ranked 12th.
LSUE baseball is coming off of its eighth National Championship last season. They are also moving up to NJCAA Division I this year, a move up from Division II where their titles came in.
Additionally, the Bengals will open their newly renovated Bengal Stadium later on in the season. Since it will not be ready initially, they will play games at the Tony Robichaux Sports Complex in Crowley for the first three weeks.
LSUE softball remains in Division II and comes into this year off of a 42-14 campaign a year ago. They will start play at the Mardi Gras Invitational at the Youngsville Sports Complex on January 31st.
The Bengal softball team will play 13 games against five different opponents in the preseason polls.
