LSU Eunice Women’s Basketball could not withstand a second-half flurry from Baton Rouge CC as the Bengals fell 76-60 on Wednesday at the Bonne Sante Wellness Center.  It was the Bengals’ (4-13) opening game in the Louisiana Community Colleges Athletic Conference (LCCAC).

LSU Eunice went back and forth with the Bears in the first half, trailing by one point after both the first and second quarters.  Deja Tanks led the Bengals’ effort in the first half, scoring eight of her 10 points off the bench before intermission.

The Bengals would see Baton Rouge storm out of the locker rooms after halftime, outscoring LSUE 26-11 in the third quarter.

Braille Washington paced another balanced effort for LSUE with a team-high 11 points off the bench.  Tanks was the other double-digit point scorer with Shayla Hickerson and Princis Goff each adding nine points.

LSU Eunice aims to rebound in its LCCAC home opener this Saturday against Delgado. The doubleheader with the Dolphins is scheduled for a 2:00 PM start.
