Many LSU fans grew concerned just a few months ago when Arden Key announced that he would be leaving the team for personal reasons. Those concerns have been washed away after head coach Ed Orgeron released a statement about the junior edge rusher.
Key, who set the program’s single-season sack record last season with 12, will be returning to the team on Monday. Orgeron also mentioned that the junior has recently undergone shoulder surgery.
“Arden had shoulder surgery and everything went as planned,” Orgeron said in a statement released by the university on Sunday. “We are looking forward to having Arden rejoin the team tomorrow (Monday).”
Key is coming off of a stellar season where he earned first-team All-SEC honors as a sophomore. Under defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, it’s expected that he will remain an edge rusher.
