LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase and cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. have been named to The Associated Press Preseason All-America Teams released earlier this week.

Chase set the Southeastern Conference record for touchdown receptions (20) during last season’s 15-0 national title run. For the season, Chase hauled in 84 receptions for 1,780 yards, won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top wide receiver and became the program’s first wide receiver to earn unanimous All-American honors.

Stingley meanwhile started all 15 games at cornerback for the Tigers as he led the SEC in both interceptions (6) and passes defended (21) in 2019. He added 38 tackles and recovered a fumble last year.

Stingley was named the SEC Newcomer of the Year and first team All-SEC honors.

LSU is scheduled to open the 2020 season at home on Saturday, September 26th against Mississippi State.
