Auburn’s (5-2, 3-1 SEC) afternoon couldn’t have started off any better as they got out to a 20-0 lead. However, LSU (5-2, 2-1 SEC) bounced back in a big way to come away with a 27-23 win in Tiger Stadium.

Auburn started out strong with a quick march down the field that ended with Daniel Carlson connecting on a 46-yard field goal. After forcing a three-and-out, Jarrett Stidham made it 10-0 with a 49-yard pass to Will Hastings with 11:31 left in the first quarter.

Kerryon Johnson extended the lead for Auburn late in the first quarter with a four yard run into the endzone to make it 17-0. Carlson got his second field goal of the afternoon early in the second quarter to put Auburn up by 20 points.

LSU fought back later in the quarter with a six-play drive capped off by a short run from Stephen Sullivan to cut away at the lead. Carlson made his third field goal in the first half with 2:16 left to make it a 23-7 deficit.

However, LSU made a dent in that lead to end the first half with a 14-yard pass from Danny Etling to Russell Gage to make it 23-14 as both teams headed into the locker room.

The score remained the same until early in the fourth quarter when DJ Chark took a punt return from 75 yards out to the endzone, making it 23-21.

Connor Culp continued to show that he is the kicker for LSU in the final 2:36 with a pair of field goals from 42 and 36 yards respectively to keep Auburn winless inside Tiger Stadium since 2000.

LSU will head over to Oxford next Saturday to take on the Ole Miss Rebels (3-3, with kickoff set for 6:30 pm.
