BATON ROUGE — LSU’s reputation as being “DBU” is as strong as ever.
Tiger senior cornerback Kristian Fulton and junior safety Grant Delpit have been named to CBS Sports Preseason All-America Teams. Both LSU defensive backs earned first-team honors.
After sitting out the 2017 season due to an NCAA suspension, Fulton recorded a team-high nine passes broken up, as well as 25 tackles and one interception and accomplished that despite missing the final three games to injury.
Delpit meanwhile became LSU’s ninth unanimous All-American in 2018 after he recorded 74 tackles, 9.5 tackles for a loss, 5 sacks and tied for the Southeastern Conference lead with 5 interceptions.
The pair of Tigers weren’t the only players with ties to the state of Louisiana to earn honors.
Baton Rouge native and Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses was selected to the first team defense, and former Jennings High star and Clemson running back Travis Etienne was also selected to the first team offense.
Moses, who was originally committed to LSU and began his high school career at U-High, was Dick Butkus Award finalist last season but lost the award to LSU’s Devin White.
Etienne meanwhile is coming off a season in which he rushed for 1,658 yards and 24 rushing touchdowns while helping lead Clemson to a national title.
