LSU star linebacker Harold Perkins announced his return to Baton Rouge for the 2025 season via Instagram. The news comes amongst plenty of other additions coming from the transfer portal for the Tigers.
The junior linebacker missed the final eight games of the 2024 regular season with a torn ACL against UCLA back in September.
Perkins racked up 13 sacks on opposing quarterbacks and 162 tackles in his three-year collegiate career. The Houston native has also forced six fumbles and intercepted two passes.
Within the four games played in 2024, Perkins recorded 16 tackles and was the leading tackler in the season-opening loss to the USC Trojans. And since the injury occurred so early in the year, the 2024 season can be treated as a redshirt season. Perkins’ 2022 freshman season wasn’t eligible to be used in that way with him playing in 13 of LSU’s 14 games that year.
LSU will conclude their 2024-25 season on Tuesday, December 31st when they take on the Baylor Bears in the Kinder’s Texas Bowl. Kickoff inside NRG Stadium is set for 2:30, pregame will begin at 12:30 and the action can be heard on ESPN 103.7 Lafayette 104.1 Lake Charles.
