While the end result for the LSU Tigers (9-3, 7-2 SEC) was fairly decisive on Saturday against Texas A&M (7-5, 4-3 SEC), but it wasn’t without some drama to start the second half.
With LSU holding a 20-7 lead at the half, the Aggies made it a one-possession ballgame with Nick Starkel taking advantage of a busted-coverage play to Damion Ratley from 45-yards out.
LSU responded with a quick march down the field capped off by a short run from Derrius Guice to make it 27-14. It became a one-possession game once again with 5:21 left in the third after Starkel connected with Christian Kirk on a 10-yard pass.
The Tigers started to pull away late in the third quarter with Danny Etling connecting with fellow senior JD Moore. The final nail was put in thanks to Etling finding DJ Chark in the endzone to make it 42-21.
LSU will now wait to find out which bowl game they will be participating in.
