The McNeese Cowboys men’s basketball team is now ranked 12th in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. That marks a move from the 16th ranking that they held next week.
The Cowboys improved their overall record to 12-5 with a 6-0 mark in the Sun Belt after last week. They defeated Nicholls 80-71 at home before hitting the road to beat Houston Christian 75-59. Javohn Garcia led the way in those two, averaging 20.5 points per game for the week.
Gonzaga remains as the top ranked team in the poll. Liberty and Santa Clara, who both beat the Cowboys during the non-conference, remain ranked in the poll as well.
This week, McNeese will host Lamar on Saturday and Stephen F. Austin on Monday.
