McNeese State University has named Bridget Martin their next Athletic Director, the school announced on Friday.
Martin becomes the first female AD in the school’s history.
A press conference to formally introduce Martin will be held on Monday morning at 10 a.m. in the End Zone Club at the Jack Doland Field House.
“I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the next Director of Athletics at McNeese State University,” said Martin. “McNeese is home, and I’m proud of the momentum we have built together. We have the foundation, alignment, and people in place to continue our upward trajectory, and I understand what it takes to be successful here.
Martin has been at McNeese since 1990, beginning as the co-head coach of the women’s basketball team.
In 2001, she became a Senior Woman Administrator and NCAA Compliance Administrator as well.
In 2023, she was named Deputy Athletic Director and was given the Interim AD tag when Heath Schroyer announced his departure a few weeks ago. Schroyer served in the role from 2020-2026 and is leaving to take an administrative job at LSU.
Now, Martin will have the interim tag removed and become the next Athletic Director for the program.
