Micah Davey is exploring his options.
The McNeese All-American linebacker announced on December 2nd that he was officially entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, which did not officially open until Monday.
Davey has one year of eligibility remaining.
Davey has shared on his X account that he has received offers from three different programs. Those are Southern University, University of Texas-El Paso, and University of Central Arkansas.
After earning Hero Sports Freshman All-American honors in 2022 as primarily a backup, Davey had a breakout season in 2023 as he led the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) in three different statistical categories – total tackles (153), tackles per game (15.3), and solo tackles per game (8.3).
For that high level of play, Davey earned All-Southland Conference First Team honors and was named an All-American by six different organizations.
Davey earned preseason All-American honors this season but injuries limited him to only eight games.
In three seasons with McNeese, the 6-foot-2, 235-pound Davey has recorded 311 tackles (164 solo), 20 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, 8 pass deflections, 3 forced fumbles and 1 interception.
The Baton Rouge native was a first-team all-state honoree at University Lab and won two state championships. Davey is the son of LSU football legend Rohan Davey.
