- Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
Lawrence’s comments recently have many questioning his motivation and his priorities. This though is preposterous as the comments he made were misinterpreted and were dismissed by Lawrence himself saying it was taken out of context.
- New York Jets – Zach Wilson, QB, BYU
Wilson is still the favorite to be selected by the Jets by a landslide. Only time will tell if this one actually sticks.
- San Francisco 49ers – Justin Fields, QB, Ohio St.
If San Fran trades up this high and doesn’t pick a quarterback here, you will be able to go in the dictionary and find a picture of me under the word baffle. Fields is the next best available for them who could take Shanahan’s offense to another level in the running game.
- Atlanta Falcons – Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
Pitts is the best non-quarterback prospect and might be the best prospect overall in this whole class. His fast 40 yard dash time with his size and ability to play Tight End and Wide Receiver gives Matt Ryan yet another weapon to throw to.
- Cincinnati Bengals – Penei Sewell, OL, Oregon
Sewell training to play Right Tackle will protect Burrow’s right side where I found him to be pressured more from than the left side. Receiver is a position that can be addressed later in a deep class.
- Miami Dolphins – Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU
Picking the best receiver prospect in the draft for Tua to stretch the field with is essential for Miami’s success. Last season there was a lack of a consistent deep threat in this offense that is addressed here.
- Detroit Lions – Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama
All of Detroit’s receivers are on the taller end of the spectrum and getting the fast 5’10” Waddle is a nice change of pace for them. Goff needs someone to throw to that’ll get open more often than these other pass catchers.
- Carolina Panthers – Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern
Since Pitts isn’t available anymore and Quarterback has already been addressed, keeping Darnold up-right is definitely the move. Slater’s stock seems to have rising and taking him now seems optimal for Darnold to deliver is to McCaffrey and Moore.
- Denver Broncos – Micah Parsons, LB, Penn St.
Parsons’ run stopping ability to go with the set edges of Von and Chubb gives Denver a very scary trio of Linebackers. He has some character issues and could cause him to fall but I still have him in Denver.
- Dallas Cowboys – Patrick Surtain, CB, Alabama
This defense is in desperate need of help at pretty much every position. It might be a little early for an edge threat, but getting the top rated Cornerback is a start.
- New York Giants – DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama
Golladay signed in Jersey earlier in free agency but adding the Heisman Trophy winner and another weapon for Danny Dimes to throw to would be nice. This could lead to the Giants trading away a pass catcher and move back up in the draft.
- Philadelphia Eagles – Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
Philly’s two biggest needs to address are corner and linebacker. Corner feels like the way they might go since they never draft linebackers in the first round.
- Los Angeles Chargers – Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech
Protecting Justin Herbert and improving the offensive line is a must need that has to be addressed early in the draft. His blocking in the pass and run game will serve Herbert and the new head coach well.
- Minnesota Vikings – Kwity Paye, EDGE, Michigan
Paye’s got the potential to be an every down player and be a good pair on the opposite side of Danielle Hunter. Edge is a big need to stop the run and get to the quarterback. Look out for Minnesota to be in the playoffs next year.
- New England Patriots – Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota St. Univ.
Trey takes a huge fall but I also believe New England could trade up to get Trey as well. Cam is only on another one year deal and Lance for that year could learn from Cam and tear up the league in 2022.
- Arizona Cardinals – Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern
Offensive line is very much an option, but moving on from someone like Patrick Peterson feels like a call to get his replacement ASAP.
- Las Vegas Raiders – Alijah Vera-Tucker, OG, USC
Vegas has moved on from a bunch of lineman, both offense and defense. Guard and Tackle could use help and Vera-Tucker gives the option to play either and gives the Raiders options where he fits best for them.
- Miami Dolphins – Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami (FL)
Rousseau is the newest talk of the town in the draft world. When we last saw him his biggest flaw was his weight. He recently has put on 25 pounds and I don’t see him not being taken at least somewhat high in the first round.
- Washington – Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
Washington is another team that could trade up for a quarterback like New England. Jones could be available in the area so they wouldn’t have to trade super far up to get him.
- Chicago Bears – Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma St.
Beefing up the offensive line tackles would be a big plus for this offense. Chicago already has good weapons and getting Jenkins to anchor this line will serve Dalton nicely until he is replaced.
- Indianapolis Colts – Jaelan Phillips, EDGE, Miami (FL)
Edge is a big concern for me and Jaelan Phillips is too good to pass up on in this position in the draft. His size and speed are great and will be vital for Indy to get high sack numbers.
- Tennessee Titans – Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
Tennessee lost a few to free agency and getting replacements is the way to go. Bateman has the ability to take it for pay dirt on any given play with sneaky good acceleration and burst.
- New York Jets – Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame
Rumors are saying C.J. Mosley could be on the move very soon. Getting someone like Dylan Moses later on in the draft is very much an option so they can address cornerback early on.
- Pittsburgh Steelers – Najee Harris, HB, Alabama
Pittsburgh moved on from James Conner for a reason. Harris is surprisingly shifty for his size and can catch the ball pretty good too.
- Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU
Moehrig is a nice value pick being the highest graded safety in the draft and being picked this late. His coverage skills and play on the ball gives him the nod to being the best at his position.
- Cleveland Browns – Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama
Barmore serves as a cheap replacement for Richardson. He put up high sack totals last season at Alabama for someone in his position group.
- Baltimore Ravens – Azeez Ojulari, EDGE, Georgia
Baltimore could still go receiver here, but if Ojulari falls this far, he’s someone they could happily take. He improved every year in his three years at Georgia and would join an already good front seven.
- New Orleans Saints – Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa
Zaven feels like a safe choice even though New Orleans doesn’t really go with players with his measurables. They could always go Farley instead and get someone like Dylan Moses who is a similar build to Demario Davis in the second or third round.
- Green Bay Packers – Jayson Oweh, EDGE, Penn St.
It’s always very tempting to go wide receiver for Green Bay, but always find ways to go in other directions. Oweh had an eye popping pro day, most notably running a 4.36 second 40 time, which is faster than LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase.
- Buffalo Bills – Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
Another really nice corner to prevent Kansas City from scoring the way they did in the AFC Championship is the move. Farley’s only concern was his surgery but it’s hard to take him out of the first round.
- Kansas City Chiefs – Terrace Marshall Jr., WR, LSU
Moving on from Watkins and getting a cheap and really good receiving option would get Mahomes a ton of weapons to work with again. Andy Reid would be able to get back in the lab again and craft up some new plays.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Levi Onwuzurike, DT, Washington
Suh is bound to leave or retire after this season considering all the void years on his contract. Levi will get one good year to learn from Suh and progressively take over his spot next season.
