Houston Astros pitcher Mike Fiers great week wrapped up with being named this week’s AL Player of the Week.
Fiers, who joined the Astros as part of the Carlos Gomez trade that was made before the deadline, threw a complete game no-hitter on Friday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night.
This was Fiers first complete game of his career and threw 10 strikeouts on the first game of the series against the Dodgers.
Fiers no-hitter was the first solo no-hitter since the late Darryl Kile on September 8th, 1993 and the first thrown at Minute Maid.
