Kyle Larson absolutely dominated the field on Sunday afternoon, leading over 400 laps in the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Larson took the lead on Lap 40 from his teammate, Alex Bowman, the first lead change of the day, before cruising the next 85 laps of the first stage to get the stage win.
The tires held together very nicely on Sunday, which was a different story than practice and the past races of the weekend. Larson was able to win the race off of pit road and maintain his spot at the top as they went back to green in Stage 2.
The first caution of the day came on Lap 178 as Shane Van Gisbergen spun around. Most drivers stayed out on the track for the caution and went back to green at lap 189.
Larson continued to lead as he finished the second stage in first, leading 211 of the first 250 laps in Bristol.
In Stage 3, Alex Bowman had an engine issue and eventually had to bring his car to the garage while his Hendrick teammate Larson spaced out his lead even further as he continued to lap traffic at the half-mile oval. At Lap 388, green flag pit stops commenced, and Larson would lose his lead by pitting early. Ryan Blaney took the lead and led several laps before giving the lead back to Larson at Lap 439 when Blaney had to pit.
Larson would lead the rest of the way for his second win of the 2025 season by dominating the Food City 500 after winning the Xfinity Series race on Saturday.
