The New Orleans Pelicans have dismissed head coach Alvin Gentry, according to ESPN’s Andrew Lopez and Adrian Wojnarowski.
New Orleans finished 30-42 for the season and posted a 2-6 record in the NBA restart. The Pelicans are the 13th seed in the Western Conference.
Gentry coached the Pelicans for five seasons. He recorded a 175-225 overall record in New Orleans.
According to ESPN’s Andrew Lopez, the Pelicans “used a league-high 140 starting lineups in a possible 400 regular season games.”
That is the most starting lineups in the league in that amount of games, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
New Orleans will now look for their seventh head coach in the franchise dating back to 2002.
