New Orleans Pelicans announce coaching staff for 2020-21 season

Posted by Louis Prejean on November 17, 2020 in Blogs, Featured, Latest News, New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans announced their coaching staff for the upcoming season on Monday.

Bob Beyer, Casey Hill and Rex Walters will be assistant coaches under new head coach Stan Van Gundy.

New Orleans also promoted Teresa Weatherspoon to assistant coach and Fred Vinson returns to the team as an assistant coach.

Corey Brewer and Beno Udrih were named the player development coaches. They will join player development coach Darnell Lazare.

The following is a statement from Van Gundy on the coaching staff:

“I am excited about our coaching staff. We have a great mix of background, experience, perspective and expertise. Four of our assistants have been head coaches at the professional or NCAA Division I levels. Five of our coaches played in the NBA or WNBA. Three coaches have institutional knowledge having worked for Griff, Trajan and current Pelicans players, while three others have worked with me and two bring us an entirely new perspective. I am looking forward to working with this staff to maximize the potential of our talented players.”
