The New Orleans Pelicans started to offer floor seats to their home game against the Los Angeles Lakers on March 23, according to The Advocate’s Christian Clark.
People who buy floor seats for the game will be required to take a COVID-19 test in the parking lot of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, according to the report. The people in the respective party must test negative before entering the arena.
The team released a statement about the decision to offer floor seating.
“We anticipate selling out of those seats as demand has been high thus far. We will be doing day-of testing as we continue to provide our fans with the safest possible game day experience, following all CDC, city and state guidelines.”
The Pelicans currently allow 3,700 fans to attend home games.
New Orleans will play the Portland TrailBlazers on the road March 16 and 18 before returning home against the Denver Nuggets March 21. They are currently 11th in the Western Conference at 17-22 overall for the season.
