New Orleans Pelicans vs Indiana Pacers Live Blog

Posted by clintdomingue on March 21, 2018 in Blogs, Latest News

FINAL New Orleans Pelicans hangs on in wild one against Pacers 96-92 behind big game from E’Twaun Moore.

41.7 Fourth Quarter  Anthony Davis is unreal. He has seemingly put the ballgame out of reach with a ridiculous fadeaway jumper, making it 91-84 with 53.7 seconds left in regulation.

3:08 Fourth Quarter Pelicans break an 82-82 tie with a clutch three from Nikola Mirotic.

End Third Quarter Pelicans are able to make it 69-67 headed into the fourth thanks to a late tip-in by Cheick Diallo

2:26 Third Quarter The Pacers are starting to pull away late in the third quarter thanks to Cory Joseph coming off the bench and putting up eight points, making it 67-61.

Halftime Thoughts

It may sound cliche, but this is a tightly contested matchup with neither team getting out to more than a four point lead. Lat night we saw Ian Clark step up and now we see Moore have a fantastic first half, leading the team with 15 points at the half. If he can keep it up in the second half, it’ll be an entertaining ballgame to say the least.

End of 2nd Quarter E’Twaun Moore continues to have a great ballgame, giving the Pelicans at 51-50 lead at the break with a late jumper.

6:46 2nd Quarter Moore makes another three-pointer to get in double figures and more importantly get the Pelicans out in from 36-35.

End 1st Quarter Pacers get out to a 21-17 late, but the Pelicans were able to make it 25-24 after a late three-pointer from Darius Miller.

6:25 1st Quarter Both teams go back and forth, with the game being tied up at 11-points after E’Twaun Moore hit a three-pointer with 6:43 left in the first quarter

Storylines

Is Jrue Holiday Playing?

After missing last night’s ballgame with what was being called flu-like symptoms, Jrue Holiday is listed as questionable for this evening.  If he’s unable to play, then you’ll need someone like Ian Clark to step up for the second straight night.

Make-Up Game

These two teams were supposed to face off back in February, but due to a leaky roof, the game was called off and rescheduled to tonight, much to the chagrin of Pelicans fans as they have to play three games in three nights. The lone benefit for New Orleans has to be the fact that all three games are at home. On an unrelated note, the Pelicans marketing team is having fun with this as tonight they’re giving away rain ponchos in the Smoothie King Center.
