Rough finish for the Pelicans with Lillard going off in the final quarter, giving the Trail Blazers the W

7:32 Fourth Quarter It’s Dame Time. Damian Liilard is able to get this team the first lead of the ballgame, making it 89-84.

End Third Quarter Pelicans just hanging onto that 75-71 lead heading into the final quarter. Thankfully, Davis was able to come back to help this team.

5:15 Third Quarter Oh no. Anthony Davis goes down with an apparent ankle injury. He is able to walk off under his own power, so we’ll see if he’s able to come back. Pelicans are up 67-58.

End Second Quarter A pair of free throws from Ali-Farouq Aminu makes it a three-point ballgame at the break. Holiday and Davis are leading the way with 10 points.

2:30 Second Quarter The Trail Blazers are keeping it competitive to end the second half, but the combination of Jrue Holiday and Anthony Davis is too much right now.

6:20 Second Quarter The Pelicans are starting to put a gap between themselves and the Blazers early on, getting out to a 36-30 lead.

End First Quarter Pelicans hang on to four-point lead thanks to a late jumper from Jrue Holiday. Okafor is setting the tone for this ballgame one quarter in with an incredible start racking up six points and eight boards (!).

Storylines

Rondo Questionable

The Pelicans underperformed offensively last Saturday and while some of that can be attributed to the fact that they were completely exhausted after playing three games in three nights, not having Rajon Rondo out there hurt. His ability to facilitate and help with ball movement was crucial during the five-game win streak and if he’s not ready to go tonight, it’ll affect the team’s performance tonight.
