NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has dropped the hammer on the New Orleans Saints organization once again.
New Orleans safety Marcus Maye has been suspended without pay for the next three games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Maye joins New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara, who will be unavailable for the final time this Sunday, and quarterback Jake Haener as he has four games remaining on his suspension.
Maye is in his seventh season in the NFL as the 30-year-old defensive back has been in New Orleans since 2022.
The first game that Maye will be able to return to will be Monday, October 9th after their week five matchup against the New England Patriots. The seven-year veteran recorded 13 tackles, one sack, an interception, and a pass defensed in the two games that he’s played in 2023.
The next game on the schedule for the Black and Gold will be a trip up north to Green Bay, Wisconsin as the Saints will take on the Packers. Kickoff will be this Sunday, September 24th at 12:00 p.m.
