The LSU Tigers have added another defensive back after Kary Vincent opted of the season.
Former Nicholls State defensive back Darren Evans is transferring to play with the reigning national champions this season.
Vincent, LSU’s starting safety, announced in August he was opting out of the upcoming year.
Evans is a 6’3″ Baton Rouge native. He started in 14 games for Nicholls State last season. In 2018, Evans was named second team All-Southland Conference.
Over the course of three seasons at Nicholls State, Evans recorded four interceptions and 27 pass breakups to go along with 100 total tackles.
There has been no decision announced on if Evans will start for the LSU Tigers.
