Logan Diggs is back home in Louisiana.
The Metairie native and former Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back has officially transferred to play for the LSU Tigers. After entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, Diggs took official visits with both LSU and South Carolina before deciding to play for Brian Kelly and the Tigers.
The 6-foot, 214-pound Diggs led Fighting Irish in carries last season with 165, and finished second on the team with 821 rushing yards. Diggs also scored four rushing touchdowns.
The addition of Diggs gives Kelly and his staff another reliable player in the backfield. LSU has Josh Williams (532 rushing yards, 6 TD), Armoni Goodwin (267 rushing yards in seven games) and Noah Cain (409 rushing yards) returning from last year’s 10-win team.
The Tigers also added star high school recruit Trey Holly of Union Parish High — who was an early enrollee.
The Archbishop Rummel star was a three-star recruit by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals. As a junior, he helped the school go 13-0 and win the state title. The following season he rushed for 646 yards on 104 carries and seven rushing touchdowns and was named the LWSA Class 5A Outstanding Offensive Player.
Diggs has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
