LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and defensive lineman Bradyn Swinson were named SEC Player of the Week for their performances in the Tigers’ 34-17 win over UCLA on Saturday.
Nussmeier was named Offensive Player of the Week while Swinson garnered Defensive Lineman of the Week honors.
Nussmeier led the charge for the Tigers, especially in the second half, as the junior quarterback led back-to-back 90+ yard scoring drives to put LSU ahead 31-17. He finished the day 32-44 for 352 and three touchdowns. After four games, Nussmeier currently leads FBS in completions and is second in passing touchdowns.
Swinson had his second straight multi-sack game, getting to UCLA quarterback Ethan Garbers twice in the first half, including a strip sack that set LSU up in great field position and led to three points in the second quarter.
LSU will host South Alabama on Saturday inside Tiger Stadium with a 6:45 p.m. kickoff. Pregame will begin at 4:45 on ESPN 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles.
