This summer, the Olympics are taking place in Paris, France.

Beach Volleyball
- The LSU team of Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth won their third Pool match, defeating the Chinese team of Xue/X.Y. Xia 2-1 after a rain delay.
Golf
- Xander Schauffele (2021 Gold Medalist), Scottie Scheffler (World #1), Collin Morikawa, and Wyndham Clark started the Olympic Golf tournament for the United States.
Rowing
- Kara Kohler competed for the US in the Women’s Single Sculls Semifinal.
- In the Women’s eight repechages, Nina Castagna, Maddie Wanamaker, Molly Bruggeman, Charlotte Buck, Olivia Coffey, Claire Collins, Margaret Hedeman, Meghan Musnicki, and Regina Salmons advanced to the final.
- In the Women’s Double Sculls final, the United States finished fifth.
- The US finished fifth in the Women’s Four final.
- For the first time since 1960, the Men’s Four final team captured the gold medal.
Water Polo
- The US fell to Greece in Group A play 13-11.
Archery
- Brady Ellison of the US won his Round of 32 match 6-2 as well as his Round of 16 match to advance to the quarterfinals.
- Jennifer Mucino was eliminated in the Round of 32. Meanwhile Casey Kaufhold advanced to the Round of 16, where she had her Olympic journey ended.
Equestrian
- The United States competed in the qualification event for Team Jumping.
Swimming
- Phoebe Bacon and Regan Smith participated in the heats of the Women’s 200m Backstroke.
- Caeleb Dressel and Chris Guiliano competed in the Men’s 50m freestyle heats.
- The Women’s 4×200 team of Erin Gemmell, Simone Manuel, Anna Peplowski, and Alex Shackell competed in the heats for their relay event. They would later capture the silver medal in the event.
- In the 200m Butterfly final, Regan Smith took home silver and Alex Shackell didn’t medal.
- Keaton Jones didn’t make the podium in the 200m backstroke final.
- Caeleb Dressel finished second in the semifinal, advancing to the final in the 50m freestyle.
- In the Women’s 200m breaststroke final, Kote Douglass took home the gold medal and Lilly King didn’t medal.
- Regan Smith and Phoebe Bacon both qualified for the final in the 200m backstroke.
- Shaine Casas and Carson Foster were both in the semifinals of the 200m Men’s Individual Medley.
Shooting
- Sagen Maddalena and Mary Carolynn Tucker both competed in the 50m Rifle 3 Position Women’s qualification event.
Tennis
- Tommy Paul (US) was defeated by Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) 3-6, 6-7. Alcaraz became the youngest person to reach the semis since Novak Djokovic.
- The team of Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul defeated Great Britain’s Andy Murray and Daniel Evens 6-2, 6-4.
- The men’s doubles team of Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram advanced to the Gold Medal Match after defeating Czechia’s Tomas Machac and Adam Pavlasek.
Sailing
- In the Men’s division, Noah Lyons competed in races 11-18 before later competing in 19 and 20 on Thursday while on the Women’s side, Dominique Stater competed in races 12-20.
- Erika Reineke competed in Race 1 of the Women’s Dinghy event.
3×3 Basketball
- The US Women’s team fell to Australia 17-15 in Pool Round. They would rebound later in the day, defeating Spain 17-11.
- Meanwhile, the men’s side lost to both Latvia and Lithuania today in Pool play.
Fencing
- The United States defeated Canada 45-31 in the second semifinal of the Women’s Foil Team contest.
- The US Women’s Team won Gold over Italy 45-39.
Boxing
- Jennifer Lozano fell to Pihla Kaivo-Oja in the Women’s 50kg Round of 16 match.
- Morelle McCane also was defeated by Navbakhor Khamidova 3-2 in the 66kg Round of 16.
Hockey
- Great Britain overcame the United States 5-2 in Pool B play.
Gymnastics
- Simone Biles captured another Gold Medal in the Women’s All-Around final while teammate Suni Lee finished with the Bronze.
Badminton
- Carolina Marin of Spain defeated Beiwen Zhang in the Round of 16 in the Women’s Singles tournament.
Surfing
- Caroline Marks of the US won Heat 1 over Yang Siqi, Carissa Moore defeated Sarah Baum of South Africa in Heat 4, and Caitlin Simmers was the lone American to lose to Tatiana Weston-Webb in Heat 6.
