The concession stand at Pelican Park in Carencro sustained heavy fire damage over the weekend. The fire broke out in the early morning hours on Sunday. The blaze was discovered by an employee, arriving to prepare for the day’s activities. The fire was too intense to be put out with a fire extinguisher. The Carencro fire department responded at approximately 6 am. Additional units from Duson, Lafayette, and Scott were called in to assist. The first and second floors of the concession area sustained severe damage. No injuries were reported. All tournaments have been canceled until further notice.
