New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram was named the Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Ingram led the Pelicans to a 2-1 record in the first week of the 2020-21 NBA season. The team’s wins came against the Toronto Raptors and San Antonio Spurs, with their only loss against the Miami Heat on Christmas.
The Pelicans forward averaged 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists in the first three games.
Ingram agreed to a max contract extension with New Orleans this offseason worth $158 million.
New Orleans is scheduled to play the Phoenix Suns Dec. 29. Tip off is scheduled for 9 p.m.
