The New Orleans Pelicans will select seventh in the 2025 NBA Draft.
That was determined via the NBA’s Draft Lottery on Monday night in Chicago, Illinois.
The Pels entered the night with a 12.5% chance to land the number one overall pick. That gave them the fourth best odds overall.
New Orleans had a rough go in 2024-25, finishing the season 21-61. They moved on from Vice President of Basketball Operations David Griffin in the offseason and hired Joe Dumars in his place. Zion Williamson was the team’s representative at the Draft Lottery.
Despite just a 1.8% chance to land the top pick, the Dallas Mavericks have been given the #1 selection in 2025.
Duke star Cooper Flagg is the assumed number one overall pick this year, after his standout lone season in college. He is touted as one of the top prospects in recent years to be available.
