On Friday, the New Orleans Pelicans took a 124-108 loss from the Los Angeles Lakers. The Pelicans’ starters were Keion Brooks Jr, Kelly Olynyk, Yves Missi, Bruce Brown, and Jose Alvarado.

Alvarado scored a team-high 27 points with five assists and four rebounds. Missi was New Orleans’ rebounding leader, with 11 rebounds, while Elfrid Payton recorded a game-high 12 assists.

Luka Doncic scored a game-high 35 points with six rebounds and six assists for the Lakers. LeBron James contributed 27 points and eight rebounds. Austin Reaves totaled 30 points.

The Pelicans held a 30-25 lead after the first quarter, as Doncic missed his first seven field goal attempts. Once the five-time All-Star broke his cold spell in the second quarter, momentum shifted towards the Lakers. Los Angeles held a nine-point lead at halftime, which New Orleans could not shake.

New Orleans now holds a 21-56 season record. They are 3-7 in their last 10 games.
