At the end of the day, the only number that matters for the New Orleans Pelicans (10-8) is the number of wins. The Pelicans were put being the eight ball early on, but were able to fight back with a strong second quarter to come away with a 107-90 victory over the San Antonio Spurs (11-7).

The Spurs dominated from the opening tip, going on a 15-2 run in the opening five minutes of the ballgame and kept their lead in the double digits for much of the first quarter. The Pelicans did fight back in the final moments of the quarter, but the Spurs were just too much and held a 29-19 after the first quarter.

The Pelicans took control of the ballgame halfway through the second quarter, going on a 22-6 run capped off by a three-point play from DeMarcus Cousins. Jrue Holiday ended the strong finish with a step back shot to give New Orleans a 50-42 lead heading into the locker room.

The Pelicans continued to roll to start the second half with a 17-4 run late in the third quarter to increase their lead to 25 points and ended up with a 28 point lead headed into the fourth quarter.

The Pelicans let up on the gas early in the fourth quarter, but were still able to come away with a  double digit win.

The Pelicans will hit the road on Friday to take on the Phoenix Suns (7-12) with tipoff set for 8 pm.
