The summer of Zion Williamson keeps rolling right along.

Back in late June, the former Duke freshman phenomenon was first selected No. 1 overall by the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA Draft and was enthusiastically embraced by the city — including New Orleans Saint star Drew Brees who gave him a signed jersey proclaiming that he was “passing the torch” to the power forward.

Then last week the 6–for-7, 285-pound star signed a seven-year shoe deal with Nike’s famed Jordan Brand — reported ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski to be the richest ever for an NBA rookie.

The latest highlight occured on Tuesday when it was announced that Williamson has officially signed a multi-year contract with video game franchise NBA 2K.

Multiple reports state that Williamson’s signing with NBA 2K includes the Pelicans rookie in multiple game initiatives, consumer events, brand creative and social activations.

“I’ve played NBA 2K my entire life and it’s an honor to officially join Team 2K,” Williamson said in a statement. “I’ve dreamed of being a part of the game and joining this global phenomenon, where people around the world can play as me. I’m ready to put my imprint on basketball culture and be a part of the team that represents what’s next in the sport.”

“Zion represents the best of the NBA’s up and coming talent and we are excited to welcome him to Team 2K,” Jason Argent, Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations at NBA 2K said in a statement. “It’s been incredible to witness what Zion can do on the court and we’re excited to grow with him throughout his career.”

NBA 2K20 will be released on September 6th.
