The New Orleans Pelicans are still making moves after the trade deadline and their big trade for DeMarcus Cousins.
The Pelicans have signed Reggie Williams to a 10-day contract to replace Omri Casspi who was waived on Saturday. This comes after Casspi suffered a broken thumb in his debut with the Pelicans. He had 12 points and two boards in a loss to the Houston Rockets.
He was expected to miss at least four weeks due to the injury and according to Alvin Gentry it was important to have that roster spot available at this point of the season.
Williams is the third player that the Pelicans have signed on for a 10-day contract as Jarrett Jack and Hollis Thompson were signed to deals earlier in the week. He will be available to play in Saturday’s game against Dallas.
