The LSU freshman linebacker Harold Perkins was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week for week 11 after his monumental performance against the Arkansas Razorbacks last Saturday.
The true freshman tied the school’s sack record with four in what was one of the best all-around games for a Tiger’s defender ever.
Perkins finished the game with eight tackles, two forced fumbles, a pass breakup, and a QB hurry. The former five-star recruit joined a list of only 4 players in the last 15 years of FBS football with four sacks and two forced fumbles in a single contest. The total sack yardage was 33 while both fumbles came off of strip sacks.
The first forced fumble led to an LSU field goal and his second came with just over a minute left to secure the game as Jayden Daniels and the offense of the Tigers were able to run out the clock.
For the defensive unit, LSU held Arkansas to season lows of 10 points given up, 121 rushing yards, and 237 total yards.
The Tigers are now ranked 6th in the latest AP Top 25 poll. Their next opponent will be UAB. LSU will host the game in Tiger Stadium on Saturday, November 19th. The kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
