LSU GAMER: Kim Mulkey’s LSU debut starts with deaminate win over Nicholls State

BATON ROUGE – The Kim Mulkey era at LSU started of with a dominating 82-40 win over Nicholls State.

The Tigers controlled the game in all fazes on Tuesday in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. LSU has dominated the series against the Colonels with a 14-0 record. LSU has held Nicholls State below 50 points in each of the past five matchups.

History was made on Tuesday as LSU guard Khayla Pointer had the programs fourth triple double program history.

Forward Faustine Aifuwa also reaches 1,000 career points.

The Tigers started out slow up only 12-5 after the first quarter with a lackluster 37% shooting from the field. The Tiger waisted no time in the second as Pointer’s 3-point shooting helped kick off a eight point run.

LSU outscored Nicholls 27-5 in the second quarter going up 39-10 at the break.

The Kim Mulkey starts her LSU career 1-0
