Louisiana Men’s Basketball released its 2021-22 non-conference schedule on Tuesday, unveiling the opponents and dates of its 11-game slate.
The Cajuns’ calendar features several prominent contests, including a matchup with Indiana at Assembly Hall and a trip west to Texas to take on Houston, who was a Final Four participant last season.
Head coach Bob Marlin will begin his 12th season inside the friendly confines of the Cajundome on November 9th against West Florida. In total, the Ragin’ Cajuns’ non-league slate features seven games in Louisiana
Marlin’s squad will hit the road for the first time on November 12th to face Southern Miss and return to Lafayette to square off with in-state opponent Xavier on November 17th.
The Ragin’ Cajuns will travel to the Midwest to face the Indiana Hoosiers for the first time in program history on November 21st and will follow with a visit to Marshall on November 23rd. The Thundering Herd made a postseason run to the Round of 32 in 2018.
The meeting with Indiana will mark Louisiana’s first game against a Big 10 opponent since an 80-71 victory over Iowa in 2017.
The Ragin’ Cajuns will return to the Cajundome to begin a three-game homestand against Jackson State on November 27th, New Orleans on December 3rd, and McNeese State on December 8th. Last season, the Tigers finished at the top of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
Louisiana’s will wrap up their non-conference slate with a road trip starting with Louisiana Tech on December 11th and concludes with the Houston Cougars on December 14th.
The team’s final game before entering conference play will feature a home meeting with Loyola on December 20th.
