The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (14-11) didn’t show a lot of what Tony Robichaux calls throwdown on Wednesday night when the Southeastern Louisiana Lions (16-9) got out to an early lead and poured it on as the game progressed and wound up with a 15-3 victory.
The Lions got their first two runs fairly easily with Haden Erbe hitting two batters in a row with the bases loaded in the first before being pulled for Jevin Huval. Hunter Kasuls would make it a 2-1 ballgame in the top of the third with a solo shot to right field.
The Lions would began to pour it on in the bottom half of the inning with a four run inning, capped off by a two-run single from Drew Avans.
The final nails would be put in the fifth inning when Southeastern Louisiana put up four more runs highlighted by Taylor Schwaner, who hit a walkoff home run in the resumed game, hit an RBI single to center field.
The Cajuns will return to the Tigue for a three game series against South Alabama (15-10, 5-1 Sun Belt) with first pitch on Friday set for 6 pm.
