Louisiana defeated Nicholls 3-2 on Tuesday. The Ragin’ Cajuns are now 18-11 overall as they head into a conference series against Arkansas State.

Nicholls left three on base to start the game as the Ragin’ Cajuns escaped the top of the first with no runs allowed.

Connor Kimple advanced to third for the Ragin’ Cajuns, but Carson Roccaforte struck out swinging to end the first.

Nicholls’ Dillon Belle hit a homerun at the top of the second for the first run of the game.

Bobby Lada and Brennan Breaux started the bottom of the second with two singles for the Ragin’ Cajuns. Lada scored on a wild pitch by Cade Evans. Louisiana took a 2-1 lead entering the third. Brett Borgogno scored the go-ahead run for the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Louisiana increased their lead to 3-1 after Tyler Robertson scored an unearned run in the bottom of the third.

Chip Menard replaced Burk for Louisiana and he ended the top of the fourth with his third strikeout of the game.

The game remained a 3-1 lead for the Ragin’ Cajuns entering the sixth inning. Kimple doubled to left field, but he was stranded on second base.

Nicholls cut the deficit to 3-2 at the top of the sixth. Xane Washington scored the second run of the game for Nicholls on a sacrifice bunt RBI.

Menard record his fifth strikeout of the game to end the top of the sixth. Nicholls stranded runners on second and third base.

Louisiana’s lead remained 3-2 despite advancing runners to second and third. Breaux double down the right field line in the bottom of the sixth.

The Ragin’ Cajuns entered the final inning up 3-2. They stranded one runner on second base.

Louisiana closed the game with Hayden Durke at the mound and recorded three outs for their 18th win of the season.

Big Number: 6

The Ragin’ Cajuns extended their winning streak to six games following the win over Nicholls. It was not a perfect game for Louisiana, but they continued their winning ways.
