The University of Louisiana women’s basketball team closed out their three-game road trip with a 73-67 win at Texas State.
How It Happened:
The Ragin’ Cajuns trailed by five points after the first quarter. Texas State jumped out to a 17-12 lead after the first 10 minutes of action.
UL’s offense slowed down in the second quarter. They only managed to score nine points. The Bobcats outscored UL 19-9 in the second.
Texas State took a 36-21 lead into the halftime break.
The Ragin’s Cajuns second-half comeback began late in the third quarter. They cut the deficit to just four points with 3:43 left. UL scored 29 points in the third after scoring 21 points in the entire first half.
After outscoring Texas State 29-17 in the third, the Ragin’ Cajuns still trailed at the start of the final quarter.
The Bobcats led 53-50 with 10 minutes left to play.
Forward Ty Doucet gave the Ragin’ Cajuns a 61-59 lead in the fourth quarter. UL managed to rally back from the 15-point halftime deficit.
The Ragin’ Cajuns used free throws to close out the road win over Texas State. UL won 73-67, improving to 6-5 on the road this year.
UL is now 11-6 on the season and 4-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.

The Ragin’ Cajuns went 24-of-28 from the free throw line. They did not make a field goal in the final 3:57 of the game, but connected on their free throws to seal the road conference win.
Player of the Game: Ty Doucet
UL’s starting forward gave the Ragin’ Cajuns the lead in the fourth quarter and led the second half charge. Doucet scored a team-high 22 points on 9-of-13 from the field and recorded seven rebounds.
