Levi Lewis has been named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week.
The Baton Rouge native completed 21-of-31 passes for 252 yards and a season-high three touchdowns as he helped lead the University of Louisiana to a 38-10 victory over South Alabama on Saturday. The victory secured the Ragin’ Cajuns third consecutive SBC West Division championship.
Lewis becomes the eighth Ragin’ Cajun to earn SBC weekly honors and is the first quarterback to win a weekly award since Andre Nunez in 2018. The team’s eight selections during this season are the most since it had eight during the 2013 campaign.
For the season, Lewis has thrown for a SBC-leading 1,880 yards and his 13 passing touchdowns is tied for the most in the conference.
The No. 24-ranked Ragin’ Cajuns hosts Central Arkansas for a non-conference showdown on Senior Day this Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
