EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Softball freshman Reagan Rios was named to the 2024 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-South Region team, the organization recently announced. Rios was tabbed to the second team in the South Region, one of three regions in the NFCA.
It marks four straight seasons that LSU Eunice has landed at least one All-Region selection by the NFCA under head coach Meghan Collins.
Rios led the Bengals in virtually every pitching category including earned run average (2.64), wins (19), strikeouts (135), innings pitched (148.1) and opposing batting average (.205). She had 31 appearances and 25 starts in her rookie campaign on the Cajun prairie, also logging a pair of saves.
The Texan began her Bengal career in emphatic fashion, tossing a six-inning no-hitter to begin her LSUE career. She logged a pair of double-digit strikeout efforts, including 12 punchouts a day after her no hitter in a second outing against SAU Tech on February 5.
Rios produced 13 complete games and tallied two shutouts.
LSU Eunice finished the 2024 season with a 42-14 record, the program’s most wins under Collins in her fifth year atop the helm.
