Ready for a challenge?
It is time to register for the Cajun Country Run set for Saturday, December 14, 2019! This is Acadiana’s oldest half-marathon. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The route is all road and USATF Certified. If you are not quite ready to run and push through 13.1 miles, there are other options. You can compete in the 10k or 5k and there is even a trail run option. The trail route is near the Vermilion River.
The Cajun Country Run is open to all skill levels. Sign up and earn bragging rights. You never know, you could be one of the finishers to take home a Gator head trophy. That’s right the winner of each division will take home a trophy made out of a gator head. There will also be License plates and medals awarded for the other finishers. It is the holiday season, so if you are feeling festive, wear a Santa costume. You can win the title of the best dressed or the fastest Santa.
The main parking area will be at David Thibodeaux STEM Academy located at 805 Teurlings Drive. It is best to use Willow Street to get to the parking at the school. The GPS may mislead you to streets that will be closed off for the race. There will a shuttle to take participants to the starting line a half away at Acadiana Park. The half-marathon will start at 7:30 am. The other races start at 7:30 am, 8:00 am and 8:20 am. After the races, a meal will be provided by Cafe 20.3 on the Bayou.

TRAIL is a nonprofit group that is dedicated to creating recreational facilities in the Acadiana Region.
