Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman has decided to part ways with sports agency Klutch Sports, according to The Athletic.
The decision came after LeBron James, a Klutch Sports athlete, and his production company will produce a documentary about the recent Astros sign-stealing situation.
According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, the decision to part ways with Klutch Sports is not completely about the agency’s production of the documentary.
James is a co-founder of Uninterrupted and the company will produce the documentary titled “Sign Language.” The documentary will stream on Quibi. Klutch Sports and Uninterrupted are not tied together but the documentary’s production was an “overriding factor,” according to Rosenthal.
Bregman was represented by agent Brodie Scoffield and he is now in search of new representation, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
Bregman recently signed a six-year, $100 million contract extension with the Astros in 2019.
