The LSU Tigers are getting back one defensive lineman.
According to The Athletic, defensive tackle Neil Farrell Jr. plans to opt back into the upcoming 2020 season.
Farrell Jr. announced on Aug. 8 that he was opting out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns.
Head football coach Ed Orgeron told The Advocate the 6’4″ senior from Mobile, Alabama plans to opt back in.
Farrell Jr. recorded 46 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and three sacks during LSU’s championship season last year.
LSU has already seen one defensive lineman opt out as Tyler Shelvin announced in late August his decision to sit in 2020.
The Tigers removed defensive end Ray Parker from the roster and they were left with eight defensive linemen. With the return of Farrell Jr., LSU will now add more depth to their roster.
