The New Orleans Pelicans are looking to move on from Jrue Holiday.
According to The Athletic’s Sham Charania, the Pelicans are “openly discussing star Jrue Holiday in trade talks.”
There are “several contending teams” pursuing a trade for the veteran Pelicans point guard.
Holiday was selected 17th overall in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He spent four seasons with Philadelphia and made an All-Star appearance in the 2012-13 season. He was traded to New Orleans for Nerlens Noel and a 2014 first-round draft pick.
Holiday has played the last seven seasons with the Pelicans. He has averaged 17.6 points and 6.8 assists during his time in New Orleans.
