The upcoming contest between the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and Appalachian State Mountaineers is postponed.
According to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, the game on Oct. 7 is being postponed due to positive tests and contact tracing at Appalachian State.
The game is expected to be rescheduled to Dec. 4-5.
The following is a statement from UL Director of Athletics Bryan Maggard:
“We are disappointed for our football program, but are certainly supportive and understanding of Appalachian State’s response to this situation. The health and safety of all involved is of the highest importance.”
This is the 24th FBS game that has been postponed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ragin’ Cajuns are off to an undefeated start to the 2020 season. Louisiana is 3-0, while App State 2-1.
